Volunteering in Rwanda – 2010
In December 2010 teenager Lauren Mackay plans to travel to
Rwanda for three months to teach English, music and art. She said
“what motivates me is the thought of being able to make a
positive impact on someone’s life, no matter how small”. The
placement will be with Youth With A Mission, which has a base in
the capital Kigali and helps poor children attend school and
widows from the 1994 civil war.
Lauren, from Melrose in the Scottish Borders, received £250 in
October 2010 from the JWCT towards her project costs.
